Keep Your Number

Switch to VoxFax and keep your phone or fax number

Moving your number to VoxFax is called "porting." We do the work with your current phone company — you just give us a few details from your bill.

How porting works

1

Sign up and choose "keep my number"

Pick your plan, then fill in the short transfer form (voxfax.net/port.php) with your number and sign online. We give you a temporary number so you can start right away.

2

Send us the details

Name and service address on the account, account number, and a transfer PIN if your carrier uses one. A copy of a recent bill helps.

3

We move it

Your current company releases the number to us. We email you the date; on that day calls start ringing on VoxFax.

Frequently asked questions

How long does porting take?

Usually 1–3 weeks, depending on your current phone company. We email you when we have a date.

Will I lose service while my number is moving?

No. Keep your old service active until the port is finished. You can use a temporary VoxFax number in the meantime.

What information do I need?

The name and service address on your current account, the account number, and a transfer PIN if your carrier uses one. A recent bill makes it easy.

Can every number be ported?

Most US numbers can. A few cannot; if yours is one of them, we will tell you and help you pick a new number.
